This work has been motivated by the outstanding need to prepare
suitable substrate for growth of III-nitride heteroepitaxial thin
films. The issue of lattice and thermal expansion mismatches
between the substrates and overlayers, which results in a high
threading dislocation density in the films, is seen to be
detrimental to photon and carrier transport in these systems. Thus,
looking for appropriate substrates or modifying substrates
appropriately, has attracted enormous attentions. The work includes
the chemical and structural modifications of silicon, gallium
arsenide and sapphire substrates, to obtain appropriate
characteristics. The work also consists of a significant portion on
the adsorption and desorption characteristic of Ga metal on various
high and low index silicon surfaces. This study not only
complements the search for substrate for GaN growth, but also in
other interesting aspects of initial stages of metal/semiconductor
interface formation, evolution of superstructural 2D- surface
phases and formation of sub-nanodimension metal nanostructures and
delta doped.
About the Book: - Ayurveda the most ancient life science of the
world is yet to be accepted as a science in its true sense by
international scientific community. This is believed to be mainly
due to lack of documentation and rigorous quality control of
Ayurvedic drugs. There is a need for documentation of research work
carried out on traditional medicines. With this backdrop, it
becomes extremely important to make an effort toward
standardization of the plant-based medicines. So this book
'Standardization and quality control of Dashanga Kwatha Ghana
tablet: An Ayurvedic classical formulation' helps as a reference
book, which mainly includes the step by step methodology required
for the standardization of Ayurvedic raw drugs and the formulation
- Dashanga Kwatha Ghana in tablet form as mentioned in the protocol
of CCRAS and WHO. This book will certainly help P.G. and Ph.D.

This text book "A Comprehensive Review on Ointments: The Semi Solid
Dosage Form" emphasizes on the general introduction, absorption,
mathematical treatment, formulation, stability studies according to
ICH guidelines, packaging, evaluation tests, patent and marketed
preparations of ointment. An attempt is made to cover the marketed
ointment preparation in India as well as international market with
various patented ointment formulations. This book is helpful for
the pharmacy professionals to get the thorough knowledge about the
ointment bases selection, formulation consideration, formulation
techniques with applications, several evaluation criteria across
the globe etc
The current designs of color video projectors suffer from color
errors commonly referred to as rainbow artifact. This book contains
a new projector hardware and processing technique that reduces the
artifacts significantly. Our contributions are in three parts. We
first propose the notion of rendering error, or an error in the
projected image perceived by the human visual system. We then
propose spatial-temporal color wheel design incorporated the
requirements for the zero rendering error condition and amplitude
demodulation. The output was satisfactory, although it required a
modfied color wheel. Finally, we propose preprocessing scheme that
reduce rendering error by introducing a correction term to cancel
the predicted rendering error.
Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) is one of the favorite table fruit
of tropical, subtropical, arid and semi-arid regions.Irrigation and
fertilizers are the most important inputs which directly affect the
plant growth, development, yield and quality of produce.
Application of irrigation water and fertilizers through drip are
the most effective ways of supplying water and nutrients to the
plant roots. In newly planted pomegranate under high density
planting system, 100 per cent RDF markedly enhanced vegetative
growth, however, physico-chemical characteristics were
significantly higher with application of 125 per cent RDF.
Similarly, drip irrigation at alternate day significantly increased
vegetative and physico-chemical characteristics. Based on
statistical analysis of relative growth rate of shoots, plant
spread, plant height, leaf area, light interception below canopy,
carbon assimilation rate, leaf nitrogen and leaf potassium it is
interred that the treatment combination comprising 100 per cent
recommended dose of fertilizers (RDF) and drip irrigation at
alternate day (I1F1) resulted in encouraging trends.
Cephalometric radiography is an important tool in the diagnosis and
treatment planning. Manual tracing is time consuming and is subject
to random and systematic error, which include identification and
technical measurement errors and acquistion. The use of
computerized software program offers several advantages, such as
instant cehalometric analyses and image acquisition, facilitated
image enhancement and archiving, and facilitated image sharing.
This study was conducted to compare the Cephalometric measurements
using a Compterized Software Program with Manual Tracings.19
angular and 11 linear measurements were analyzed on each
radiograph. Results showed significant differences between the two
methods for 5 (4 angular and 1 linear) out of 30 measurements. From
the results it was concluded that both angular and linear
measurements were accurate and reliable. Except, few measurements
showing highly significant differences, the validity of the
measurements with the software and with the conventional method are
highly correlated.
Digital watermarking is a technique in which a secret image is
embedded into host image. watermarking is used in a variety of
applications such as copyright protection, covert communication,
Tamper proofing and Medical applications. For the embedding purpose
spatial domain techniques were used in early days. Now various
transform domain techniques are used for the embedding purpose.
some of the transform domain techniques are Discrete Cosine
Transform, Discrete Fourier Transform, Curvelet transform and
Contourlet transform. Among these transform domain techniques
contourlet transform is used because of its ability to deal with
two dimensional images. Contourlet transform represent images
containing contours and textures very efficiently as it is a
geometrical image based transform. Contourlet transform has played
a major role in producing the watermarked image with good
perceptual quality.
PMFor thousands of years, natural products have played an important
role throughout the world in treating and preventing human
diseases.Large number of medicinal plants have been advocated in
folklore medicines, for treating various diseases and disorders. One
of such plant is Salvia splendens(Labiatae).Tribal of
Chotanagpur,Chattisgarh and Jharkand region of INDIA are using
different parts of this plant for the treatment of different
disease for human.Salvia splendens is known as scarlet sage mainly
consists of anthocyanins and terpenoids. As guided by the literature
regarding the traditional uses of this plant as antidiabetic and
antioxidant, the methanolic and aqueous extracts were screened for
these activities. This book should be especially useful for academic
and industrial researchers to carryout further research in order to
explore other biological activitie
Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) is rapidly emerging
technology, which plays a key role in next generation networks by
delivering QoS and traffic engineering (TE) features. MPLS is
helpful in managing traffic when some links or paths are under
and/or over utilized. Traffic engineering is the main strength of
MPLS. Where an IP-based network is connectionless, MPLS based
network defines definite paths for network traffic based on some
Quality of Service level. In MPLS a look - up in switching table is
certainly less complex and less time consuming than a corresponding
routing table look-up in an IP router. This book presents an
analysis of MPLS signaling protocols for traffic engineering and
shows the capability of providing traffic engineering in MPLS
compared to the conventional routing protocol, and also explains
the MPLS LSR operations based on the basic LSR functionality of
classification, queue, and scheduling. After comparative analysis
of MPLS and non-MPLS network it shows that MPLS provides improved
network performance for heavy traffic environments. This is useful
to professionals and researcher who are working on MPLS networks.
